Pharmacogenomics

Pharmacogenomics

Pharmacogenomics is the study of how variations in different genes can affect a person’s response to drugs. It is well recognized that most drugs do not produce the same effect in each individual. It can be difficult to predict who will benefit from a given therapy, who will not respond at all, and who will experience adverse drug reactions.

NewGene has made two pharmacogenomic tests available for routine clinical use; TPMT sensitivity and Warfarin sensitivity. This test portfolio will be added to as additional tests become available.

The company has several pharmacogenomic research projects in development; if you are interested in this subject and the capabilities NewGene has in this area please get in touch using the contact form at the bottom of the page.
